World Cup 2026: Predictions for June 24 Group Stage

As the final matches in the World Cup 2026 group stage begin, so does the intensity. It is the World Cup so things were already rather intense, but with certain teams fighting for their knockout stage lives, expect more fireworks. And the schedule gets more intense as well with six games covering Groups A, B and C taking place on Wednesday, June 24.

Co-host Mexico was the first to clinch a trip to the Round of 32 with their 1-0 win over South Korea. A win or a draw with Switzerland gives Canada the Group B title. Canada also helped themselves in any tie-break scenario with a 6-0 win over Qatar. The pre-tournament favorite to win Group C, Brazil tangles with Scotland in a critical match.

World Cup 2026 Group Matches Today

So as not to draw the World Cup out any longer, the third round of all group stage matches will be played over four days. Starting June 24 there will be six matches a day filling the 32 slots for the knockout stage that starts on Sunday, June 28.

That PIP feature on modern television sets was created for the third round of World Cup 2026 group stage matches. In order to avoid any conflict, group games will start at the same time. Group B takes the pitch first at 3 p.m. ET on June 24 with Bosnia-Herzegovina playing Qatar in Seattle, and Canada and Switzerland battling in Vancouver.

At 6 p.m. ET Group C takes the pitch with a key contest between Scotland and Brazil in Miami. The other clash has Morocco and Haiti playing in Atlanta. The full day of action concludes in Mexico at 9 p.m. ET with a doubleheader. Mexico can secure its Round of 32 berth against Czechia inside Estadio Azteca. South Africa and South Korea tangle at Estadio BBVA. The top two teams in each group automatically qualify for the knockout stage while the third place clubs have to wait for a wild card invitation.

Today’s World Cup Groups Odds

  • The betting lines for World Cup matches on June 24 list heavy favorites Brazil and Morocco in Group C with tighter, high-stakes matchups in Groups A and B.
  • Brazil is positioned as a -235 World Cup betting odds favorite to beat Scotland in their final group stage match with Morocco at -390 to beat Haiti. The Group A match between Mexico and Czechia saw odds shift after the co-hosts clinched the group title. Mexico is a plus-odds (+110) favorite against a desperate team that needs a win to advance.
  • Canada won its first ever World Cup match blanking Qatar 6-0 in the second round. They enter the final match tied with Switzerland for first in Group B. Needing a win to claim the top spot the Swiss are an early plus-money favorite (+150).
  • 3-way moneyline betting offers the “early payout” feature. This means if the team you backed leads by two or more goals at any point during regular time your bet or leg will be settled as a winner, regardless of the final result. All bets that have not triggered the early payout condition will be settled on the full time result.

Match 1 Prediction and Betting Preview

A possible berth in the knockout stage is on the line in the Group B match between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Qatar. The winner still has a slim chance of finishing second, but that outcome is unlikely. Instead play this match to win since a draw is of no help to either side. Bosnia is a clear World Cup betting odds favorite and will use its physical forwards to control tempo and win aerial duels that result in enough offense to get the win.

Match 2 Prediction and Betting Preview

The teams enter the Group decider with identical records with Canada holding the goal-differential advantage. That means for them a draw is just as good as a win. The pressure is on the Swiss to win the match in order to claim the top spot, like most predicted they would. Canada lost midfielder Ismael Kone to injury last match and must contend with a club that likes to control the middle of the field. Canada’s pressing style could be tamed to not allow quick counter attacks.

Match 3 Prediction and Betting Preview

Early World Cup betting odds have Morocco as a big -390 in their match with Haiti, which is crucial for seeding in Group C. The group longshot and the country that had the longest odds of any in the tournament after the opening round of games, Haiti held their own in a narrow 1-0 loss to Scotland. They don’t have much firepower up front and playing tight defensively allows the Moroccan stars like Brahim Diaz and Ayyoub Bouaddi to formulate attacks that result in golden scoring chances.

Match 4 Prediction and Betting Preview

Scotland put themselves in the thick of the Group C race beating Haiti in the opener. Things are different against the favorites in the group, though. The Scots are in a good spot to advance to the knockout stage with a win, though they are a big +590 dog on the early line to beat Brazil. Scotland defenders will face a grueling task over 90+ minutes of trying to contain Brazil’s sensational forwards led by Vinicius Junior. Remaining disciplined on the back row and limiting wide attacks will help the Scots stay close.

Match 5 Prediction and Betting Preview

Mexico didn’t just automatically qualify for the knockout stage with their 1-0 win over South Korea, they also clinched first place in Group A. With no chance of improving their placement, just how motivated will Mexico be to play starters? We are likely to see a number of key figures stay on the bench or head to the bench early. This disrupts Mexico’s defensive organization that’s been stellar in the World Cup conceding zero goals in two matches. The second favorite to win the group entering the tournament, only a victory will keep Czechia’s World Cup run alive.

Match 6 Prediction and Betting Preview

Entering as a clear moneyline favorite and needing a win to automatically advance, South Korea is a solid pick. However, with little value attached to their moneyline price, targeting them in other markets is a more sensible approach. Predicted to finish last in Group A, South Africa resurrected its World Cup hopes with a 1-1 draw against Czechia and can claim second place with a victory. South Korea’s possession game and RSA’s inability to produce more than one goal in any of its last seven matches, makes a low scoring game inevitable.

Best World Cup Betting Angles for Today

  • Even though Mexico clinched first place in Group A and will probably rest some key players, they hold a huge physical advantage playing in the altitude of Estadio Azteca.
  • With certain teams needing a victory to qualify for advancement or to keep their hopes of moving on alive, bettors can capitalize on high-stakes, low-scoring World Cup 2026 group finales.

How Group Standings Affect Today’s Predictions

As of this writing no country has been eliminated from automatically qualifying to advance. Mexico secured first in Group A and with nothing to gain will likely opt to rest some key players to keep them fit for the next stage. Teams like Brazil, Czechia and Switzerland entered the tournament with high expectations and haven’t performed the way they’d like, but there is one more opportunity to work out the kinks as they all prepare to advance to the Round of 32.

Daily World Cup Prediction Summary

Teams that haven’t played as well as expected in the World Cup so far still have time to correct their trajectory. It’s a smart move to back teams like Brazil, Morocco and Switzerland. Also, more defensive structure with teams playing not to lose makes the goal count drop with the opposite also being true. Teams needing a positive result will push the issue.
