Entering their third match of the season both The Bay Golf Club and Los Angeles Golf Club are below the playoff cut line making this a must-win for both teams. That might be truer for The Bay as it has yet to win a match this season. It’s been quite a turnaround from a season ago when LAGC won the regular season and The Bay finished No. 2.
TGL Preview
The final score made last week’s match between Jupiter Links GC and defending champion Atlanta Drive GC seem closer than it actually was. Taking out their frustration of not winning, Tigers’ clan was dominant in an 8-6 win. It was the first win for Jupiter Links ending a 5-match overall losing skid.
The start of the match was all too familiar for Jupiter, getting behind 2-0 after 2 holes. The team went on a run of five straight wins to take command. Every player contributed to the record stretch. It was the first time Jupiter had ever won more than 2 consecutive holes.
The loser of this week’s match between Los Angeles and The Bay will have a hard time repeating its playoff run from a season ago. LAGC went undefeated in regulation last season topping the standings with 9 points. The Bay was right behind with a 4-1-0 record and 8 points, earning them the top 2 playoff seeds.
- LAGC rebounded from its first ever regulation loss when it fell 7-5 to Boston in the opener by beating Jupiter Links 8-4 last time out. LA is a -163 favorite on the TGL betting odds board in this matchup with The Bay listed at +125.
- Following the Jupiter Links victory, The Bay is the only team without a win this season, and the matches haven’t been close. They lost 7-4 to Atlanta in the opener and were ambushed by Boston 9-1 in their most recent match.
- With a pair of convincing wins to start the season, Boston Common remains the favorite on the TGL futures odds board. Winning last week didn’t move the needle for Jupiter Links, which has the longest championship odds.
- There could be a revenge factor at play in this matchup. In last season’s regular season finale LAGC won 5-3 to secure first place and the No. 1 playoff seed. Eventually it meant nothing, though, since both lost in the semifinals.
- Both teams are reportedly in good health with each member participating this season. Several players are competing on the PGA Tour’s Phoenix Open ahead of this match with Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala representing LA, and Wyndham Clark and Min Woo Lee supporting The Bay.
Tomorrow’s Golf League Schedule and Betting Lines
Halfway through the season the race is tight with The Bay the only team without a win. However, they can change the entire direction of their season by beating LA on Monday.
With the PGA Tour in full swing, pun intended, team members will take a match off every now and then. That’s the case this week for LAGC with Justin Rose heading home after his Tour win at the Farmers Insurance Open. In his place LA will suit up Tony Finau, who seamlessly fit in the lineup in his lone appearance last season.
The Bay also has alternates in Luke Clanton and Neal Shipley ready to peg it up on Monday. Losing the first 2 matches by a combined score of 16-5 means anything is on the table and fresh blood could give them a lift.
TGL Schedule
Monday, February 9, 2026, 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
The Bay Golf Club ( +125 ) vs. Los Angeles Golf Club ( -163 )
- An alarming trend continued for The Bay in their most recent loss. Like they did in the opener, the team found itself in an early hole and this time never put up a fight. Boston won the first hole and The Bay was down 5-1 after Triples. Against Atlanta, The Bay dropped Hole 1 but took the lead after 2 Hammer concessions. They didn’t score again until the final hole with the match out of reach.
- Clanton and Shipley will both make their Tomorrow’s Golf League debut alongside holdover Min Woo Lee. Clanton is a former No. 1 ranked amateur who was the top collegiate player last year. Shipley was the low amateur at the 2024 Masters and U.S. Open.
- Finau will make his season debut for LAGC in place of Justin Rose and has experience that his first time counterparts on the opposite team doesn’t. Finau played one match last season earning 2 Singles points to help LAGC comeback from a 4-0 deficit to beat New York.
- LA’s dramatic comeback win in last year’s match was sparked by strong Singles play from Tommy Fleetwood and Sahith Theegala. They each won 2 points over the final 6 holes overcoming a 3-0 deficit to win 5-3.
- The Bay’s troubles can be traced to declines in 2 key statistical categories. Keeping the ball in play has been a problem with the team last in fairways hit and greens in regulation. They led TGL in both categories last season. It cost them numerous scoring chances leaving the team winless through 2 matches.
- Things have gone so bad for The Bay this season that they became the first team to lose their Team Hole. Wyndham Clark missed a short birdie putt at No. 4 Bay Breaker last time out in a loss to Boston.
TGL The Bay GC vs. Los Angeles GC Top Matchups
- The Singles matchups featuring LA’s established veterans against The Bay’s youngsters stand out. Clanton’s ability to hit the ball a long way is a plus on the lengthy 10th hole. Finau played the 13th before, piping his first ever TGL swing down the middle of the fairway.
- Fleetwood goes head to head with Shipley in the second Singles matchup. Again, experience matters on the tough holes these players will compete on and LA has it in this one. Fleetwood denied LA a critical point in last season’s match, holing out from 21 feet to even the 13th.
Best TGL Bet for The Bay GC vs. Los Angeles Links GC
- Shipley and Clanton are superb golfers based on their body of work in the amateur ranks. And though this isn’t a major, the pressure is on against seasoned PGA Tour vets who have navigated the tech aspect of TGL. As long as LA doesn’t make a boat load of unforced errors there is no reason why they shouldn’t win this match.
TGL The Bay GC vs. Los Angeles GC Betting Tips
- There could be some concern for LA with Fleetwood playing for the first time. But he was a point collector last season earning 4 in Singles and another 9 in Triples. Hitting almost 82 percent of fairways last season allowed him to score.
