The eventful day starts at 3 p.m. ET with Group B favorites Switzerland taking on long shot Qatar at Levi’s Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area. Australia and Turkey conclude the day looking to position themselves in what is expected to be a competitive Group D race. Turkey is slightly behind USA as the favorite to win the group with Australia boasting the longest odds of the foursome.

From June 13 forward the World Cup will feature at least four matches until the group stage has been completed and the Round of 32 confirmed. Every team in Group A, B, C and D will have played one match at the conclusion of the June 13 schedule.

All four Group C teams play in the middle of the daily schedule with the Brazil vs. Morocco match between the top two favorites in the group.
The first full day of World Cup group stage competition concludes in Vancouver just before midnight ET with Australia and Turkey following up the previous day’s Group D scrap between the US and Paraguay.

Today’s World Cup Groups Odds
- With the United States the only favorite with positive odds, Group D is considered the most competitive in the cycle. Points are crucial and Turkey has a chance in its opener to pick up three as a World Cup betting odds favorite against the country most expect to finish at the bottom of the group standings.
- The top two favorites in Group C tangle in a consequential match. Brazil has lofty expectations to add to its record five World Cup titles but faces a tough test off the bat in Morocco, which aims to replicate its run to the 2022 World Cup semifinals.
- Qatar and Haiti have the longest odds of winning their group and both are considerable underdogs in their opening matches against Switzerland and Scotland respectively.

Match 1 Prediction and Betting Preview
With an experienced squad coming off an undefeated qualifying run, Switzerland is heavily favored to beat Qatar in its opening match. At -420 on the moneyline the Swiss have an implied probability of better than 79 percent.
Switzerland enters the World Cup with a formidable defensive structure conceding only two goals in its last three international friendlies. Breel Embolo enters in fine form with nine markers in his last 12 national team matches.
With several recent matches cancelled Qatar enters in less than ideal circumstances and is not given much of a chance. Their offensive struggles have continued but the club is motivated after becoming the first host nation to lose all three group matches in 2022.
Match 2 Prediction and Betting Preview
In what is the match of the day the top two favorites in Group C meet in a much anticipated opener at MetLife Stadium. Appearing in every World Cup with a record five titles, Brazil has earned respect as an international power. However, they are vulnerable on the back end.
Still, the Brazilians enter as a -145 favorite on the moneyline with Morocco at +469. Morocco established itself as a power with a semifinal run in the last World Cup and is currently No. 7 in the FIFA world rankings, just behind Brazil.
There is some value backing Morocco at its price against a team living on its past accomplishments. Morocco enters the World Cup on a 19-match unbeaten streak and beat Brazil 2-1 in the most recent head to head confrontation.
Match 3 Prediction and Betting Preview
The second Group C match of the day has the bottom two squads on the World Cup group stage odds board going at it. There is a path to the knockout stage as one of the top third place teams and Scotland is expected to compete for one of them. The Scots are favored at -185 on the moneyline to secure a valuable three points in their quest.
Making their first World Cup appearance since 1974 Haiti is an afterthought according to bookmakers. The Haitians can’t be overlooked with top tier midfield talents and a recent 4-0 trouncing of New Zealand in an international friendly.
Match 4 Prediction and Betting Preview
Turkey is the betting favorite at -145 to beat Australia in what is likely the most wide-open group in the World Cup. At +170 to win the group Turkey has the highest ceiling talent outside of the traditional international powerhouse countries. They also benefit from an advantageous group draw.
The Turks enter on a solid run of form going undefeated in their final stretch of games entering the World Cup. Young playmaker Arda Guler is coming off a stellar campaign for Real Madrid further bolstering Turkey’s chances of a Group D title.
Best World Cup Betting Angles for Today
- I really like the chances of Morocco besting Brazil. And since a draw guarantees both teams a point it’s worth backing the Moroccans for a win or tie in a double chance wager.
- World Cup group stage matches historically have at least two goals scored roughly 88 percent of the time with teams looking to attack rather than play a scoreless draw. With goal differential a tie breaker teams are likely to attack in the later stages.
- Prime is offering Same Game Parlays for soccer that gives bettors the option of combining multiple selections from one game into a single wager. The choices could include match results, totals, player props and more.
How Group Standings Affect Today’s Predictions
We won’t see the full effect of how group standings affect match predictions until games are played. With four groups having each member complete a match at the end of Saturday’s schedule, teams will adjust their routines and tactical strategy moving forward.
Daily World Cup Prediction Summary
We often see low-scoring grinder matches in the early World Cup group stage matches. Turkey has a talent edge and arrives in excellent form making them a top moneyline pick. Couple that with UNDER 2.5 goals for improved odds and a winning wager.
Morocco appears undervalued to me with elite talent, a lengthy unbeaten streak and a run to the semifinals in the 2022 World Cup. They haven’t slowed down and they will be a handful for the favored Brazilians.
| Match | Prediction | Betting Angle |
| Qatar vs. Switzerland | Switzerland to win Nil (-135) | Backing the Swiss on the moneyline offers no value so pair a win without conceding a goal to improve odds |
| Brazil vs. Morocco | Morocco Double Chance (Win or Draw +150) | Morocco is seen as a threat to the heavily favored but vulnerable Brazilians |
| Haiti vs. Scotland | Scotland ATS -1.5 (+140) | Risky with great potential if the Scots dominate possession |
| Australia vs. Turkey | UNDER 2.5 goals (-125) | Goals are precious between teams more reliant on defensive structure |
