WM Phoenix Open PGA Betting Odds & Picks

The PGA Tour season continues with its annual Super Bowl week trip to Arizona for the WM Phoenix Open. A winner in his season debut two weeks ago at The American Express and a 2-time winner of this event, Scottie Scheffler opened as a huge PGA Tour betting favorite.

Scheffler won’t win every event he enters, though it sure seems like he can. He was victorious in 4 of his last 7 starts placing among the top 4 in the ones he didn’t finish first. And he’s won half of his last 14 starts dating back to the CJ Cup last May.

The ‘Greatest Show on Grass’ always attracts a strong field and the lineup is bolstered by the return of 2-time champion Brooks Koepka, who survived the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open in his first PGA Tour event since signing with LIV Golf in 2022.

WM Phoenix Open Preview

The PGA Tour heads to the Phoenix suburb of Scottsdale and TPC Scottsdale for this week’s WM Phoenix Open. The tournament will be contested over four days starting on Feb. 5 with the final round played early on Sunday to avoid competing with the Super Bowl. Television coverage is provided by CBS, Golf Channel and ESPN+.

WM Phoenix Open Predictions

  • It’s hard not to back Scheffler in any tournament considering how well he’s played over the last several years. And this one has special meaning for him. It was the site of his first Tour win back in 2022 with a successful title defense in 2023.
  • Scheffler is also looking to bounce back from his worst finish of the 2025 season. He closed with a 72 to drop into a share of 25th. It was the only time he finished outside the top 20.
  • Xander Schauffele is second on the golf betting odds board and has added motivation after his string of 72 consecutive made cuts was snapped last week at the FIO. He’s making his first start in this event since 2023 and has never finished worse than T17. In his last 3 starts the Schauffele has two podiums and a T10.
  • Backing Cameron Young for a top 10 is a move that could pay off. His game is a good fit for the TPC Scottsdale layout and he’s in fine form heading in. His title at the Wyndham Championship last August was one of 5 top 5s in his last 7 starts.
  • Looking to put a difficult 2025 season behind him, Sahith Theegala is healthy and ready to make a run. It’s been a good start for him with T8 at the AMEX followed by a T7 at the Farmers. Theegala also has a pair of top 5s in this tournament.
  • The last 2 years produced unlikely winners with 99/1 longshot Thomas Detry emerging last year and Nick Taylor at around 168/1 in 2024. Players like Max Homa, Akshay Bhatia, Thorbjorn Olesen and Gary Woodland offer value with odds higher than +12500.

  • Use of the driver is a key to success at TPC Scottsdale and few have done it better than Keith Mitchell early in the season. He enters ranked 3rd on Tour in strokes gained off the tee and worked his way to a T11 at the Farmers by leading the field in strokes gained tee to green.
  • One of the hottest players over the last several months without a win is Si Woo Kim, co-runner-up at the Farmers. He finished no worse than T21 in his last 10 starts with five of those outings landing him in the top 6. He also placed among the top 25 in his last 3 Phoenix Open starts.
