TGL Odds & Picks: Jupiter Links GC vs New York GC

Tiger Woods and his Jupiter Links Golf Club will finally get their second season of Tomorrow’s Golf League underway as the final team to play a match. A slow start to last season prevented Jupiter Links from reaching the playoffs giving them motivation to come out the gate fast. New York is looking to rebound after losing its opening match to Atlanta in a SoFi Finals rematch.

Unfortunately for golf enthusiasts Tiger Woods will not be playing when Jupiter Links GC takes on New York GC on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. Woods is expected to miss the first half of the season. The most galvanizing figure in the sport is now eligible for the PGA Tour Champions. Woods underwent another back surgery in October and while he’s been swinging clubs, he has yet to be cleared.

The quartet of Woods, Max Homa, Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim remains the same from last season with rising PGA star Akshay Bhatia signed as an alternate to replace Woods. The 2-time PGA Tour winner reportedly turned down a “lucrative” offer from LIV Golf to remain on the PGA Tour and partner with Woods and the TGL golf team.

Jupiter Links can use all the help after struggling to a 1-4 record last season finishing fifth in the standings. They ended up a point better than Boston Common Golf and their 10 holes won were the fewest of any team.

New York GC advanced to the SoFi Cup Finals last season after losing its first match. The new season started in similar fashion with a Finals rematch loss to Atlanta, 6-4, in the first match of the new campaign with New York a substantial underdog.
Despite their season-opening loss, New York GC opened as a -138 TGL betting favorite for this match with Jupiter Links at +110.
A better start to the season would help Jupiter Links in its pursuit of a playoff berth. They dropped last season’s opener 12-1 to Los Angeles GC with nothing going right. Kisner rifled a short bunker shot off the stick at the 13th with the ball ricocheting off the green. “It was just one of those weird nights,” Woods explained.

Tomorrow’s Golf League Schedule and Betting Lines

Despite his eligibility for the Tour Champions and his ailing body, Woods remains as popular as ever as the face of the game for three decades. As a result he and his new Tomorrow’s Golf League venture is getting plenty of media attention as well as traction at the betting window. Woods won’t play in the early part of the season but has stated he will be attending every Jupiter Links match as he gets ready to join his teammates.

Since NYGC doesn’t have to compete with Billy Horschel, maybe they have a chance of winning this match. Horschel helped Atlanta to a championship Finals win last season, draining impressive putts and was at it again in the opener with a 37-foot eagle putt supplying the margin of victory.

Jupiter Links Golf Club (+110) vs. New York Golf Club (-138)

Both teams are searching for the first win of the season with the difference being this is JLGC’s first match. The team had moments last season, just not enough of them as it finished with only one match win and a league-low 10 holes won.

Tiger Woods said he will attend every match even if he’s not playing, giving Jupiter moral support. In Woods’ place the team added Akshay Bhatia as an alternate. Not yet 24 years old, Bhatia has a pair of PGA Tour victories and moved into the top 45 in world rankings.

Not only is Jupiter trying to win more than one match and qualify for the playoffs, they would like to avenge an embarrassing loss to NYGC in last season’s match. New York dominated in Triples winning 8-2 and waltzed to a 10-3 triumph.

Xander Schauffele struggled in the loss to Atlanta making the move to Rickie Fowler look good. Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick and Cameron Young made up the threesome that put together a thorough beating of Jupiter last season.

Better use of the Hammer will likely help Jupiter improve in the standings and at worst help their overall holes won total. Jupiter was last among all TGL golf teams with just 5 hammer points won and they had a minus-12 Hammer scoring differential.

TGL Jupiter Links GC vs. New York GC Top Matchups

If Jupiter doesn’t waste strokes getting to the green the team can almost assuredly count on Tom Kim to put them in position to win. Kim was one of the best Tomorrow’s Golf League performers on the green making 90 percent of his putts inside 10 feet. Not as lethal but still darn good, he drained 40 percent of his putts between 10 and 30 feet, placing inside the top 5 among all players.

New York successfully handled the hoopla of Woods playing in last season’s match. Hopefully for them they don’t have a letdown with the Big Cat out of the lineup. A successful Hammer throw on the 3rd hole resulted in a 2-point swing and NYGC built an 8-0 lead in Triples play. Getting behind early plagued Jupiter last season and they should focus on winning points early to avoid the same fate.

Cameron Young gives New York an edge on long par 4s and par 5s with his ability to drive the ball great lengths. He finished 2nd last season in average drive distance with more than 331 yards a strike. His massive 336-yard drive on the 4th hole helped NYGC to its only singles point in the opener.

Best TGL Bet for Jupiter Links GC vs. New York GC

If something can feel good and bad at the same time New York’s opening match would qualify. The bad is obviously losing the match and the good is hanging with the champs until the last hole.

Having already played a match is a benefit for New York and they don’t have Billy Horschel on the other side dropping ridiculously long putts for wins. The price is up there but backing New York GC for the match win is the play.

Mentioned earlier was Jupiter’s struggles at the beginning of matches. And that’s an area where New York excelled last season, especially in the rout of Tigers’ team. I have no problem backing the New Yorkers to win the Triples portion of the match.
