Texas A&M at Missouri: Odds, Lines & Expert Picks
One of only four remaining undefeated FBS teams, the Texas A&M Aggies put their perfect record on the line against the upset-minded Missouri Tigers in a Week 11 battle of top 20 SEC squads. After opening the season with five wins, the Tigers have dropped two of their last three to fall off the pace in the conference. The game is scheduled to kick at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 8 from Memorial Stadium in Columbia, MO and will air on ABC.
Texas A&M at Missouri Preview
An off week before the final stretch of games should help the Aggies as they pursue perfection. They looked like a well-oiled machine before the bye, scoring 35 second half points to beat LSU 49-25 in what would be the last game for Tigers coach Brian Kelly. The Aggies aren’t great in any category rather they’re really good in just about everything.
The Aggies have been able to win shootouts like their Week 3 41-40 triumph over Notre Dame and a 45-42 conquest of Arkansas in Week 8. They also won a defensive struggle with Auburn, 16-10, in Week 5. Since that pillow fight the Aggies are averaging nearly 40 points scoring more than 30 in all four games and cashing the OVER on the college football odds in their last three games.
- The dual threat ability of Marcel Reed has helped the Aggies average 37.8 points per game, 14th best in the FBS.
- Reed has accounted for 23 touchdowns with 17 passing and 6 rushing.
- KC Concepcion and Mario Craver have opened the passing game with 76 receptions, 1,261 receiving yards and 11 TD catches between them.
- Texas A&M has the best third-down defense in the country allowing just a 22.2 percent opponent success rate.
Handing the Aggies their first loss would go a long way toward salvaging the Mizzou season. It’s not done yet, but two losses in three games is a setback. And with starting QB Beau Pribula sidelined with an ankle injury, the task is much larger. The Tigers are also coming off a bye giving them time to prepare Matt Zollers for his first career start.
Zollers saw action in the most recent game, nearly leading the Tigers to win over Vanderbilt. He replaced Pribula in the third quarter and was a respectable 14 of 23 for 138 yards and a TD. Reestablishing a run game would help. The Tigers averaged more than 243 yards on the ground while winning their first five games but they’re averaging more than 100 yards per game less over the last three.
- Ahmad Hardy leads the SEC in rushing with 937 yards but he has just 207 yards and is averaging 3.6 yards per carry in the last three games.
- The Tigers saw their 8-game SEC home winning streak end in their 27-24 loss to Alabama in Week 7. They pushed the 3-point line in that game and are 5-3-1 ATS in that span.
- Mizzou has the SEC’s best total defense and are third in fewest points at 16.8.
Texas A&M at Missouri Predictions
Missouri has one of the stingiest defenses in the country allowing just 245.8 yards per game. A strong defense coupled with the Tigers’ trying to run the football in order to take some pressure off their freshman QB and I can see this game going UNDER the total of 48.
