The final regular season tournament of the year has the PGA Tour headed to Greensboro, North Carolina for this week’s Wyndham Championship. With the top 70 players in the FedExCup standings advancing to the playoffs starting next week a number of players are on the bubble looking to earn enough points to advance. In fact every golfer from No. 60 to No. 109 in the standings are scheduled to peg it up this week. At No. 7 Keegan Bradley is the highest ranked player in the field but he opened behind Matthew Fitzpatrick and Aaron Rai on the opening PGA Tour odds. Last year, Rai closed at 30/1 and won for the first time on the PGA Tour rallying for a 2-shot victory over Max Greyserman.
Wyndham Championship Overview
The 2025 Wyndham Championship, the last regular season tournament of the PGA Tour season, will be contested at Sedgefield Country Club from July 31 through August 3. At 7,131 yards and par 70, Sedgefield has hosted every year since 2008 producing low scores along the way with eight of past nine winners scoring 18-under or better. The 2021 edition had a Tour record-tying six golfers reach a playoff. Kevin Kisner escaped with the win in extra holes. Along with defending champ Aaron Rai, the field also includes last week’s 3M Open winner Kurt Kitayama, who moved into the top 70 with his 1-shot triumph. Kitayama scorched the course last week going 65-60 over the final two rounds. He missed the cut last year in his tournament debut. A number of past winners are scheduled to peg it up, including 2019 titlist J.T. Poston, who matched a tournament scoring record with 258, which was established two years earlier by Henrik Stenson. The 2025 Wyndham Championship will be televised on CBS, Golf Channel and ESPN+.

Wyndham Championship Top Contenders
Keegan Bradley +2507
Bradley enters on a run of good form and he’s looking to be more of a threat in this tournament. He made the cut in three previous starts but finished well off the pace with a best of T22 last year eight shots back. He enters with three top 10s in his last six starts, including a 1-shot win at last month’s Travelers Championship. Some of his better rounds have come on shorter courses and Sedgefield certainly hits the mark as far as that’s concerned.
Nicolai Hojgaard +5212
His stats and metrics would seem to correlate well to a track like Sedgefield giving Hojgaard plenty of value at his price. The lack of yardage tends to even the playing field, but when big hitters are also accurate that’s a huge advantage. Hojgaard is one of the longest off the tee and his approach and putting have been impeccable leading to three straight top 25s, including a T4 at the Genesis Scottish Open and T14 at The Open Championship with four rounds of 69.
Tom Kim +6515
It was only a few years ago Kim joined the Tour around much fanfare. His first PGA Tour win early in his career was at Sedgefield in 2022 when he closed with a 61 to win by five swings, matching the largest margin since 1992. There’s been very little to talk about this season, though, as Kim continues to struggle. He went 16 straight starts without a top 30 finish until clicking for a T17 at the Scottish Open a few weeks back. He showed the game hasn’t completely abandoned him and returning to the site of his first Tour win should spark some memories, and hopefully inspired play.
Kurt Kitayama +4611
Sometimes you just have to play the hot hand and let it ride. It was an uneventful first six months of the season for Kitayama, but everything changed suddenly. He did have a T5 at the CJ Cup in May, but nothing else inside the top 20. In early July Kitayama was T5 at the John Deere and followed that with a T14 at the Barracuda. Everything came together last week. Eight shots back after two rounds, Kitayama moved within one shot following a third round 60. He completed the comeback with a closing 65 winning by a shot. Over his last two stroke-play events his scoring average is an impressive 66.13.

There is value looking further down the odds board in a field like this. You can also exploit alternate markets with help from this golf betting guide. It’s hard to win consecutive tournaments which makes backing Kitayama risky. Hojgaard has the stats that would work on the course.
