After 18 seasons, four NFL MVP awards and a Super Bowl title, Aaron Rodgers will face the team that drafted him for the first time when his Pittsburgh Steelers host the Green Bay Packers in the Week 8 edition of Sunday Night Football. Oh, and the teams lead their respective divisions as well. The game kicks off at 8:20 p.m. ET on October 26 from Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh and will be televised on NBC.

Enough time has passed and Jordan Love has played well enough to make the reunion less of an event. It’ll still be something the Packers have to deal with, especially Love since he took the reins after Rodgers was traded. Love has thrown for 1,438 yards and 10 TDs with the fifth best passer rating in the NFL. Green Bay is seventh in scoring averaging 26.3 points.

The defense has helped the Packers to a 4-1-1 record and first place in the NFC North. They are second-best against the run and rank among the top 10 in yards and points allowed. The addition of Micah Parsons has been a boost to the unit. The former defensive rookie of the year is tied for the team lead with 5.5 sacks.

The Steelers had a few extra days to prepare for this contest after their Week 7 Thursday Night Football loss to Cincinnati. Rodgers threw four TD passes but was also intercepted twice, and the defense had another disappointing game allowing Joe Flacco to throw for 342 yards and three TDs. It allowed the Steelers to cash the OVER for the fourth time in six games.

Pittsburgh’s defense has been torched too many times that it’s now a concern. Love and Josh Jacobs give Green Bay a balanced attack against a vulnerable group. And the Packers don’t turn the ball over. Rodgers is having a fantastic season and the Steelers will need him to be on, like he needs more motivation. I thought the total was low when I saw it so I’m jumping on the OVER.
