Oklahoma vs Alabama Preview: Latest Odds & Predictions

Looking to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Oklahoma Sooners face a tall task visiting the Alabama Crimson Tide. With two losses already the Sooners are all but eliminated from the CFP with another setback.

And winning in Bama isn’t easy. The SEC clash kicks at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 15 from Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa and will air on ABC.

Oklahoma at Alabama Preview

After losing two of three games the Sooners bounced back in a big way with a 33-27 upset win at Tennessee two weeks ago.

It was the most points scored against an SEC opponent since joining the conference in 2024 and took OU into the bye on a positive note. John Mateer scored the game-winning TD and rushed for 80 of OU’s 192 yards.

The Sooners face a similar situation playing at night in a hostile environment. They beat Tennessee outright as a 2.5-point dog and face Alabama as a 6-point dog on the early college football odds. Since joining the SEC the Sooners are 0-2 against league foes when playing as a road dog of 6 or more points.

  • The Sooners boast one of the top scoring defenses in the country allowing an average of 14.1 points, but opponents have scored a total of 61 points the last two games.
  • OU had played below the total in its first seven games before cashing the OVER in each of its last two.
  • The Sooners are 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six road games immediately following a bye.
  • Oklahoma is 4th nationally with 33 sacks but could be without sack leader R Mason Thomas, who was injured after returning a fumble for a TD against the Vols.

If you’re going to lose it’s best to do it early in the season. Alabama was upset in the opener but rallied to win the next eight games and place among the top 4 in the CFP rankings.

A win on Saturday would also clinch a spot in the SEC Championship game. Bama covered the 10-point spread in last week’s 20-9 win over LSU improving to 6-1-1 ATS during the 8-game streak.

We haven’t seen the dominant offense like year’s past with the Tide ranked 8th in the SEC averaging 32.8 points. But the group has been efficiently led by Ty Simpson, who has 2,461 passing yards and 21 TDs with only one interception.

Bama has the 14th best pass offense in the country but needs to improve a run game that ranks 121st nationally.

  • Problems running the football were evident against LSU. The Tide managed just 56 yards and 2.2 yards per carry. For the season they average 3.5 yards, next to last in the SEC.
  • Since the 2021 season Bama is 37-1 at home with payouts in each of their last eight contests.
  • Alabama ranks among the top 20 in total defense, pass defense and scoring defense, allowing an average of 17.2 points.
  • Bama is 8th nationally in red zone defense allowing points on 71 percent of opponent drives.

Oklahoma at Alabama Predictions

Alabama will look to avenge last season’s loss to OU and also keep its run to the CFP going. On top of that a win secures a spot in the SEC title game, so there is plenty on the line.

The Tide have been nearly unbeatable at home in what seems like forever and laying 6-points to a Sooners team that lacks pop on offense seems like a gift.
