Odds to Win 2025 ACC Football Title
If you believe Dabo Swinney you might as well sell the house, empty the retirement accounts and throw down on the Clemson Tigers to not only win the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) championship but the national championship as well. The Clemson coach said recently, “I do believe we can be the first 16-0 team.” Context is needed, though, with Swinney not referring specifically to his 2025 team rather the program in general, but he wouldn’t have mentioned it if this club wasn’t something special. Oddsmakers agree that Clemson is the cream of the 2025 ACC crop pegging the Tigers as a negative odds favorite to win the league championship on the college football futures odds.
2025 ACC Season Preview
While Clemson could very well be the best team in the ACC this season, the program getting plenty of attention is North Carolina. The Tar Heels made a bold move hiring Super Bowl winning coach Bill Belichick to lead the program. There are plenty of unknowns surrounding the Heels, including about Belichick, who has never coached at the collegiate level. Miami, SMU and Louisville are behind Clemson on the futures board boasting shorter than 10/1 odds. SMU went undefeated in conference play and qualified for the CFP. However, the season ended on a sour note with a thrilling setback to Clemson in the ACC title game and a 28-point loss to Penn State in the first round of the playoffs. The return of Kevin Jennings should keep last year’s eighth highest scoring offense humming, but the ‘Stangs won’t sneak up on anyone and the schedule has increased difficulty. Miami’s late season crash happened before the end of the regular season costing the Hurricanes a CFP berth. Carson Beck was brought in to replace the No. 1 overall NFL draft pick Cam Ward and wholesale changes were made on defense. Two years ago Florida State went undefeated during the regular season and beat Louisville for the ACC title. Last season they won two games and finished last in the standings. The seat is plenty warm for coach Mike Norvell so expect the Seminoles to at least be competitive and if things fall right they could be a sleeper.

2025 ACC Favorites
Clemson -120
Not only do the Tigers have a Heisman Trophy hopeful returning at quarterback, they return a massive amount of production at other positions from last season’s ACC title winning club, which makes them the overwhelming favorite. Cade Klubnik had a strong 2023 season but showed major development in 2024 throwing nearly twice as many touchdown passes while tossing fewer interceptions. He completed more than 63 percent of his passes for nearly 3,700 yards and the Tigers averaged 34.7 points to rank among the top 20 nationally. An improved defense under new coordinator Tom Allen will only boost Clemson’s championship hopes.
Miami +445
The Canes got about as close to replacing Cam Ward as they could by luring former Georgia standout Carson Beck to South Beach. There are some holes at receiver, but the offense will be fine behind a veteran line and a deep pool of running backs. A loss to Syracuse in the season finale cost the Canes a trip to the ACC title game and a CFP berth in the expanded field. That breakdown could be motivation, and a defense that surrendered nearly 31 points per game to ACC opponents was revamped.
SMU +775
We could say this about every team in the NIL and portal era, but the Mustangs had a good amount of roster turnover during the offseason. Kevin Jennings is a reason why SMU can make another run at the ACC crown and he will be a larger part of the offense. Jennings completed 65 percent of his passes for 3,245 yards and 23 TDs. He also rushed for 354 yards and five more scores. SMU had the ACC’s best scoring defense a season ago, but returns just two starters.
2025 ACC Longshots
North Carolina +3,004
UNC is here because of its head coach, and if Belichick is as good as he was during his Super Bowl winning days with the NFL’s Patriots he could transform the program. The Heels have gotten the talent in recent years and they’ve been fun to watch, but they always seemed to underperform. Once again there’s talent with a lot of it new to Chapel Hill, and if anyone can get the most out of his roster it’s Belichick.
Duke +2,814
Duke pulled a coup, landing Darian Mensah to take over behind center. One of the top transfers in the portal, Mensah completed 66 percent of his passes with 22 TDs and only six picks in his freshman season at Tulane. With an expected boost on offense and a number of All-ACC caliber performers on defense, Duke might not be known as just a basketball school.
2025 ACC Prime Free Picks
Clemson has too much returning talent to not be considered for the ACC title. Louisville is also among the favorites with USC transfer Miller Moss directing what should be another explosive offense. If the defense holds up the Cardinals should be right there. However, no team has been able to match up with Dabo’s group.
