NFL Week 3 Betting Picks: Best Bets & Predictions

NFL Week 3 has a lot of intriguing games including a pair of unbeatens matching up in Philadelphia, as the Rams visit the Eagles and a Sunday night contest between two Super Bowl contenders, as the Lions visit the Ravens. NFL Week 3 begins with the Buffalo Bills hosting the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night on Prime Video with the Bills a big favorite in NFL betting odds at Prime.

Notable NFL Week 3 Odds

Buffalo (-12) represents the week's largest NFL pointspread, reflecting Miami's organizational turmoil and Buffalo's early season dominance. The Bills are the current Super Bowl favorite in NFL futures at Prime.

Green Bay (-7.5) over Cleveland shows line movement in favor of Green Bay, as the Packers opened as a 5.5-point favorite. Green Bay's 2-0 ATS start and 11.5-point average margin of victory, combined with Cleveland's 41-17 Week 2 defeat, drove this significant NFL line move.

Minnesota (-2.5) over Cincinnati underwent major line movement twice. The first move happened after the news of Joe Burrow's injury was reported with Burrow out for the next few months. The Bengals opened as 1.5- point favorites before Burrow's injury shifted the line toward Minnesota to as much as 3.5 or 4 points, but news of Minnesota quarterback J.J. McCarthy being out moved the line back a bit toward Cincinnati.

Let’s take a look at more of the information and stats as we consider NFL Week 3 best bets.

NFL Week 3 Predictions

I am coming off much better results last week, as the NFL picks went 3-1.  As a reminder, when it comes to NFL best bets each week you should know that I go against the grain with almost all of my picks. If the public does well, then I will probably struggle, but if the public loses, then I will probably have a good week. Let’s look at Week 3 NFL predictions.

  • Tennessee Titans +3.5 vs. Indianapolis Colts – I have been very impressed with the Colts, but I am not alone, as it seems everyone is on board with Indianapolis. That means there is a lot of value on Tennessee this week. I’ll take the points with the Titans.
  • Carolina Panthers +5 vs. Atlanta Falcons – The public is going to go against Carolina on a regular basis this season so get used to the Panthers being a pick each week. It worked for us last week as the Panthers got a backdoor cover and we’ll take them again this week.
  • New York Jets +7 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – The public is against the Jets right now and it is hard to argue, but is Tampa really good enough to be laying a touchdown to anyone? I’ll take the Jets plus the points.
  • Denver Broncos +3 at Los Angeles Chargers – The Chargers are starting to become a public team. It makes sense, as they have looked really good in wins over the Chiefs and Raiders. This is an interesting line, as you would think the Chargers would be laying more points at home, but they are just a 3-point home favorite. The public is on the Chargers, so that means I will back the Broncos plus the points.
  • New Orleans Saints +7 at Seattle Seahawks – Another team the public is going against this season is New Orleans. The Saints have looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL, so it is no surprise the public is going against them in Week 3.  I’ll take the points with the Saints in this game.

NFL Week 3 Betting Tips

  • Target 0-2 Teams as Underdogs: Teams starting 0-2 are 35-15-1 ATS (70%) against 1-1 teams in Week 3 since 2010. With only six teams reaching the playoffs after 0-3 starts since 1980, desperation will be a big motivator.
  • Back Explosive Early-Season Offenses: Teams gaining 6.75+ yards per play through two weeks maintain their dominance in Week 3, going 18-7 SU and ATS (72%) since 2015. Quality offense remains the most consistent factor in NFL success.
  • Fade the Public: When 65%+ of the NFL betting handle backs one side, that majority group has gone just 96-111 ATS (46.4%) over the past two seasons. Heavy public backing often indicates trap games.
