NFL Futures: Who Will Win the 2025 NFL MVP Award?

Football
NFL

Last year, Josh Allen won the National Football League's Most Valuable Player Award. It was the first time since 2019 that a player won the MVP award for the first time.

The NFL MVP is awarded by the Associated Press (AP), although the Pro Football Writers Association (PFWA) also bestows its MVP award each year, with Lamar Jackson winning it for the third time last year.

In most cases, sportsbooks will use the AP version for their odds, but the PFWA odds may also be available, depending on the sportsbooks, so be sure and specify on your ticket if you are betting on the AP or PFWA award.

Odds to win the 2025 NFL Most Valuable Player Award

Top Contenders: Jared Goff+1803, Lamar Jackson+551, Josh Allen+601, Joe Burrow+626, Patrick Mahomes+667, Jayden Daniels+1147, Justin Herbert+2405

Jalen Hurts+2555, CJ Stroud+2505, Jordan Love+3306, Brock Purdy+3505, Saquon Barkley+4008, Dak Prescott+4008, Aaron Rodgers+5511, JJ McCarthy+7014, Caleb Williams+3735, Trevor Lawrence+6012, Baker Mayfield+6814, Tua Tagovailoa+6814, Kyler Murray+6012, Bo Nix+6624, Sam Darnold+7728, Matthew Stafford+4817, Michael Penix Jr.+10037, Jaxson Dart+50189, Quinn Ewers+60225

Jared Goff +1803

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is an understandable choice to win the NFL Most Valuable Player award in the 2025 season. Goff is a 4-time Pro Bowler, including two of the last three seasons.

The Detroit Lions have been in the top tier of the NFL for the past two seasons and are again among the favorites to win the Super Bowl.

In the past three seasons, Goff has thrown for no less than 4438 yards with at least 29 touchdown passes in those three campaigns, including 37 last year. Goff is coming off his best QBR season with a 111.8 and career-best 72.4 completion rate.

It all adds up to an understandable status as a player drawing plenty of attention.

Lamar Jackson +551

It is totally understandable and justifiable why Lamar Jackson is a top-tier favorite to win his third AP NFL MVP Award and his fourth PFWA NFL MVP prize.

Jackson is a 4-time Pro Bowler, including the past two seasons. He won the AP NFL MVP in 2019 and 2023. Jackson has done everything necessary to rock a Gold Jacket from Canton on the first ballot, except win a Super Bowl.

Now he is on a team that is again in the conversation for the Lombardi Trophy. The Ravens have made the playoffs in five of their six seasons with Jackson on the team, including the past three seasons.

Last year, Jackson threw for over 4000 yards for the first time in his career and posted a career-best 119.6 QBR. Additionally, he rushed for 915 yards to remain one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in history.

Josh Allen +601

Much like Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen has done everything necessary to make the Hall of Fame except win a Super Bowl.

Last year, Allen won the NFL MVP award and was a Pro Bowler for the third time in his career, and posted the second-best QBR of his career at 101.4. He threw for 30 touchdown passes with only 12 interceptions.

Allen has thrown for more than 4200 yards in four of the past five seasons.

Joe Burrow +626

If Joe Burrow can stay in the lineup, he has a strong shot at winning the NFL MVP award.

Last year, Burrow threw for a career-best 4918 yards and 43 touchdown passes. He won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award last year and in 2021. He is a two-time Pro Bowler, including last year.

Burrow quarterbacked the Bengals to the 2021 AFC championship.

Patrick Mahomes +667

Following a terrible performance in last February’s Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have vowed to go on a redemption tour in 2025.

Mahomes is a two-time NFL MVP (2018 and 2022) and has won three Super Bowl championships. He is a six-time Pro Bowler from 2018-2023. Mahomes went 15-1 as a starter last year despite lacking a quality supporting cast, which dragged his stats down.

But the Chiefs will offer Mahomes more help this year, and KC has the motivation to settle scores.
