NFL Championship Game: Betting Odds and Analysis

NFL Championship Game Previews

The New England Patriots are listed as road favorites on the NFL spread in the AFC Championship Game at Denver on Sunday on CBS, while the Seattle Seahawks are home favorites against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday on FOX.

Getting the top seed in each conference remains one of the biggest competitive advantages in the NFL’s 14-team playoff format, where only one team per conference earns a wild-card weekend bye.

This year, both Denver and Seattle cashed in on that edge, winning their divisional-round home games and benefiting from the extra rest that comes with playing on Saturday. Seattle’s advantage is even more pronounced given that the Rams had to survive an overtime grinder in sub-freezing conditions Sunday night just to advance. Now, with Super Bowl LX on the line, the atmospheres in Denver and Seattle will be electric as four teams with very different identities collide.

New England arrives as a complete, well-coached group that has surged behind Drake Maye, a top-three defense, and Mike Vrabel’s Coach of the Year-caliber season. Denver counters with a defense-first formula built on elite pass rush, deep cornerback play, and a knack for forcing turnovers, even as Jarrett Stidham steps in for the injured Bo Nix.

The AFC title game shapes up as a contrast of styles, but both teams have clear, sustainable paths to victory, each rooted in what has carried them all season.

The NFC matchup is just as compelling. The Rams enter knowing they already beat Seattle once and outplayed them for long stretches in the rematch before collapsing in one of the greatest comebacks in Seahawks history. Matthew Stafford’s 457-yard explosion in Week 16 remains one of the few dominant performances against Seattle’s defense all year, and Los Angeles showed its resilience again by grinding out an overtime win in Chicago.

Seattle, meanwhile, looks like a team peaking at exactly the right moment. Since that wild Week 16 rally, the Seahawks have ripped off four straight wins over playoff teams, powered by a defense that has allowed just 139, 173, and 236 yards in its last three outings. Sam Darnold is still managing an oblique injury, but he has been efficient, supported by a surging run game and a defense playing at a championship level.

The Rams have proven they can move the ball on Seattle, and Seattle has proven it can overwhelm opponents when its defense takes over. With both teams carrying legitimate reasons for confidence, the NFC championship sets up as a heavyweight rematch defined by adjustments, execution, and which side can summon one more peak performance in the season’s biggest moment.
