NCAAB Odds: Indiana at Kentucky Preview

A matchup of college basketball bluebloods takes place in one of the most storied venues in the sport when the Indiana Hoosiers invade Rupp Arena to take on the Kentucky Wildcats. Having four losses in the first month of the season is nearly unheard of at UK, which has single-digit setbacks in 9 of the past 16 seasons.

Both squads ended 2-game losing streaks in a big way in their last game. The Hoosiers scored a season-high 113 points in their 41 point romp over Penn State while the Cats also hit triple digits in their 103-67 win over North Carolina Central.

Indiana at Kentucky Preview

The Hoosiers and Wildcats meet in a regular season game for the first time since 2011 on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET with ESPN offering television coverage.

Public Betting Odds Factors

  • Given the status of both programs in the college basketball sphere there is sure to be plenty of interest in this matchup.
  • Kentucky has not dropped below .500 this season but they haven’t been more than three games over the breakeven point either. Consecutive losses to North Carolina and Gonzaga put them at 5-4 before Monday’s blowout of NCCU.
  • If there is a silver lining for the Cats it’s that the young roster should improve by playing a difficult schedule – at least that’s the hope. All four losses were to teams ranked inside the top 20 at the time of the game.
  • Kentucky is also reeling from the absence of projected starting point guard Jaland Lowe, who’s played sparingly and with a brace since getting back in the lineup two games ago. Mouhamed Dioubate has also been sidelined for several games. He averaged 11.4 points in the first five contests.
  • Indiana suffered its first two losses of the season but rebounded in triumphant fashion to slam Penn State at home 113-72 on Monday night reaching the century mark for the fourth time this season.
  • Lamar Wilkerson had a huge game against Penn State making a program record 10 3-pointers and scoring 44 points in the win. IU averages 10.3 made 3-pointers per game helping them to an average of 85.4 points a game.

Indiana at Kentucky Predictions

  • Injuries have paved the way for Otega Oweh to pick up his game. And Oweh has delivered scoring at least 16 points in each of the last four games with a season-high 21 in Kentucky’s win over NCCU. All 6 victories have come at home and if not for shooting woes the Cats could’ve beaten UNC.
  • Indiana hasn’t played well in games away from Bloomington losing to Minnesota and Louisville in their last two. UK should only get better as the season progresses and key pieces return, and their home court edge is worth backing.

Indiana at Kentucky Betting Tips

  • The Cats failed to cover the whopping 43-point college basketball point spread in their 103-67 win over NCCU for their third straight ATS loss. Overall they are 4-6 ATS with all four payouts coming on their home floor.
  • The UNDER is 4-2 in Kentucky’s last 6 games.
  • The Hoosiers are 8-2 SU and 6-4 ATS overall. With an offense that shoots better than 50 percent from the field and averages more than 85 points they’ve been able to cash the OVER in two straight games and in three of the last four.

Indiana at Kentucky Head to Head and Key Stats

  • The last two meetings took place in the NCAA Tournament, most recently in 2016 with the Hoosiers getting the win, their second in the last three matchups.
  • Kentucky has won 4 of the last 6 meetings going 4-2 ATS in that span.
  • The Cats have won 10 of 13 meetings on its home floor and haven't lost to IU at home since the 1988-89 season.
  • Two of the last three encounters played below the closing total.
