Michigan State at Wisconsin Betting Odds

Big Ten heavyweights Michigan State and Wisconsin square off on Friday as they continue to jockey for position atop the conference standings. Both teams rebounded from a loss in their most recent game and seek to continue their winning ways.

There is a common thread between the teams entering this contest; their last win came against the same opponent in overtime. MSU avoided a 3-game losing streak beating Illinois 85-82 on Saturday. Wisconsin turned the trick on Tuesday, 92-90, on the road.

Michigan State at Wisconsin Preview

The only regular season meeting of the season between the Michigan State Spartans and Wisconsin Badgers takes place on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the Kohl Center in Madison, WI. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET with television coverage provided by FOX.

Public Betting Odds Factors

  • Both teams are coming off emotional overtime wins over Illinois, another top club in the conference. Michigan State’s victory came at a good time stopping a 2-game slide ahead of an off week.
  • With setbacks to Minnesota and Michigan in its previous 2 games and an overtime win against Rutgers before that, the Spartans were dealing with adversity for the first time. And the conduct of Jeremy Fears had MSU on edge. The standout guard played more than 40 minutes with 26 points and 15 assists against Illinois.
  • Not only did the Spartans snap a 2-game slide with their win over Illinois, they also ended a 3-game losing streak against the college basketball spread. MSU was money, going 6-1 ATS in 7 games before the Rutgers game. Overall they are 13-11 ATS.
  • As good as Jeremy Fears is, the man needs to contain himself. Sportsmanship issues arose in losses to Minnesota and Michigan and coach Tom Izzo was considering disciplinary action. But with back court mate Divine Ugocukwu lost for the season, Fears will have to do something incredibly stupid to get pulled off the court.
  • Wisconsin played its second straight OT game but came out on the positive end against Illinois winning outright as a 9.5-point road dog for their third straight payout. The Badgers stayed within the 3.5-point line in a 78-77 loss to Indiana in their previous game.
  • Nick Boyd and John Blackwell came up large against the Illini. The top two scorers accounted for 9 of Wisconsin’s 11 points in OT and tallied 49 points between them in the game. The Badgers rallied from a 12-point deficit with just over 8 minutes to play.

Michigan State at Wisconsin Predictions

  • There are some issues with Michigan State’s backcourt. There’s no denying Fears is a talent. He averages 15.1 points and leads the Big Ten with 9.1 assists per game. According to Izzo, Fears needs to “grow up a little bit.” And that needs to happen now with the loss of Ugochukwu hampering depth.
  • Wisconsin is a feisty group and its comeback win over Illinois should boost their confidence entering this matchup. The balanced attack can crack MSU’s defense giving Bucky enough of an edge at home to get the payout.

Michigan State at Wisconsin Betting Tips

  • Both squads have played close games recently. Twice in the last 4 outings MSU went to OT winning both. And their last 2 games were each decided by 3 points.
  • The Badgers needed extra time splitting their last 2 games and 4 of their last 5 games had a difference of 4 points or less. Wisconsin has payouts on the college basketball betting line in its last 3 games and is 13-11 ATS overall.
  • The Spartans have cashed the OVER in their last 4 games giving up nearly 15 points more per game than their season average.

Michigan State at Wisconsin Head to Head and Key Stats

  • The series has been even recently with the teams splitting their last 8 games. Wisconsin won the most recent matchup, 77-74, in last season’s Big Ten tournament.
  • The Badgers have won 3 of the last 4 matchups including an 81-66 triumph in Madison during the 23-24 season.
  • Wisconsin is 6-4 SU and ATS in the last 10 head to head meetings
