LIV Golf Chicago: Top Odds & Predictions
The next to last individual tournament of the season has the field in the Chicago area for a fourth consecutive year with this week’s playing of LIV Golf Chicago. Jon Rahm has yet to win this season but he’s still in contention for the season long individual championship. Rahm’s last victory was at this event last year when he held off Joaquin Niemann to win not only the tournament but the overall individual championship. Rahm is pegged as the outright betting favorite on the early LIV Golf betting odds ahead of 2023 titlist Bryson DeChambeau and Niemann, who’s won five times this season for a significant edge in the overall individual standings.
2025 LIV Golf Chicago Overview
LIV Golf Chicago, the 12th of 14 tournaments on the season slate, is scheduled to be played from August 7 through August 10 at the 7,221-yard, par-71 Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The tournament has been played in the Chicago area in each of the last three years and debuted at Bolingbrook in 2024. Cameron Smith won the inaugural tournament in 2022 with DeChambeau emerging victorious in 2023. Those were held at Rich Harvest Farms. Without a victory since his three-shot triumph here last year, Rahm has been remarkably consistent finishing inside the top 10 in 22 of his 23 completed starts over his LIV career. It’s been hit or miss this season for Niemann, who posted his fifth triumph of the season and record seventh overall last time out at LIV Golf UK. In the six starts he didn’t win Niemann finished T20 or worse five times. We see the usual suspects at the top of the odds board with Rahm, DeChambeau and Niemann the only players boasting shorter than 10/1 opening odds.

2025 LIV Golf Chicago Top Contenders
Talor Gooch +2256
A few years ago Gooch was the talk of LIV Golf winning three tournaments in five starts. In fact he’s still the only player to go back-to-back winning in DC and Andalucia consecutively in 2023. Success has evaded him recently, but Gooch has been playing his best golf since that spurt with three top 5s among four top 10s in his last five starts, including a second victory at Andalucia last month when he held off Rahm by a single shot.
Tom McKibbin +3650
We’ve seen favorites do a lot of damage on the LIV Tour so it’s risky to venture too far down the odds board. McKibbin flashed form earlier in the season then went cold in the middle part of the year. He recently picked up his game with a pair of top 5s and T11 in his last three LIV starts. An excellent ball striker with accuracy off the tee, those traits should benefit the youngster this week.
Jon Rahm +506
We’re not used to seeing Rahm go an entire year without a victory so it almost feels like he’s due for a win, but as you’ll read in our sports betting guides, favorites are no guarantee to win. He’s been maddeningly consistent this year and since joining LIV placing inside the top 10 in all but one tournament he finished. The only non-top 10 was a share of 11th in Dallas in June. His last victory was at Bolingrook in this event when he carded a round 2 low of 64 and held off Niemann to win by three swings. Rahm still has an outside chance of winning the individual championship with a strong showing, preferably a win, aiding his cause.
Cameron Smith +3058
The winless drought is even longer for Smith reaching two years now since his title at Bedminster. Back when he was winning tournaments on a somewhat regular basis Smith was triumphant in Chicago, though that came at a different course. Smith has played strong golf recently placing among the top 10 in five of his last seven LIV starts with the others getting him inside the top 25. A lack of consistency has dogged him with one bad round spoiling his effort. I can see Smith putting things together this week.

Staying at the top of the odds board has paid off in this tournament. Rahm closed as the outright favorite last year while DeChambeau and Smith had the second shortest odds when they won. Rahm has been nearing a victory all season and with one last chance to close the gap on Niemann for the season lead I expect to see his best.
