A former member of the Pac-12 Conference takes on a future member when the Washington Huskies and Boise State Broncos get bowl season underway with a contest at the Bucked Up LA Bowl. The game is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA with kickoff at 8 p.m. ET. Television coverage is provided by ABC.
Boise State vs. Washington Preview
It wasn’t quite the season the Broncos were expecting after winning 12 games in 2024. However, their dominance in the Mountain West Conference continued as they secured yet another title in their final season by handily beating UNLV, 38-21, in the conference championship for their third straight crown.
The Broncos finished the season strong winning their final three games averaging more than 37 points. They covered the college football odds in two of their last three games and are 7-4-2 ATS overall this season. Despite being the third-highest scoring team in the MWC the Broncos cashed the UNDER in five of their last six games, including the last two.
- The Broncos are 0-7 SU and 2-4-1 ATS in their last 7 games against current Power 4 squads and Notre Dame. One of those setbacks was to UCLA in the 2023 LA Bowl.
- It’s been feast or famine with BSU averaging more than 42 points in their 9 wins while scoring exactly 7 points in their 4 losses.
- BSU is ranked 12th nationally in pass defense allowing just 171.5 yards per game.
- Maddux Madson returned for the MWC title game after getting injured early in the Week 10 loss to Fresno State throwing for 289 yards and 3 TDs with another rushing TD in the victory.
The Big Ten is a grind and the Huskies played some of the best in the conference and still finished with a winning conference record while going 8-4 overall. Three of their losses were to Ohio State, Michigan and Oregon, teams that finished a combined 24-3 in Big Ten play. The problem was they were outscored 74-27 in those games.
Led by Demond Williams, U-Dub dominated their non-conference slate winning all three games by a combined score of 167-55. In those games Williams completed 73.5 percent of his passes with 4 TDs and zero interceptions. He also rushed for 220 yards and 2 scores. For the season Williams completed 70 percent for 2,850 yards with 21 TDs.
- The Huskies are 9-2 SU in their last 11 games against the MWC with both losses to Boise State.
- Led by the dual threat of Williams, the Huskies had the 5th best total offense and scoring offense in the Big Ten during the regular season.
- Washington converts on third down plays more than 51 percent of the time to rank sixth nationally.
- UW has not allowed more than 26 points in a game and ranks 21 nationally in scoring defense.
Boise State vs. Washington Predictions
There is a bias in games between Group of 5 teams and Power programs that in some cases impacts the betting line. Over the years Boise State has shown it isn’t afraid to take on the big boys and in this case I like getting the points and backing the Broncos.
