Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky – Betting Tips & Game Odds

WNBA

Without Caitlin Clark the Indiana Fever are just another team in the WNBA. And they’re probably ecstatic they don’t have to face the defending champion Liberty again this season. Sandwiching double-digit losses to New York around the All-Star Game with Clark absent in both contests, the Fever dropped to 12-12. One of the matchups that make the WNBA worth watching is between Clark and Angel Reese. Clark and the Fever have had the better of Reese and the Chicago Sky this season, but the Sky get a chance to make up for it when it hosts Indiana on Sunday, July 27. The game is scheduled to tip at 3 p.m. ET on ABC. The Caitlin Clark effect is real with this game being played in the larger United Center to accommodate a larger crowd, assuming Clark is ready to play.

Fever vs. Sky WNBA Game Preview

Indiana has the talent to be a playoff team without Clark. However, with the most dynamic player in the league the Fever is a legitimate championship contender. Clark has had several stints on the injured list missing a total of nine games and the All-Star exhibition so far. Indiana is 4-5 without Clark in the lineup, but they showed how far behind the Liberty they are in recent games. Without No. 22 on the floor the Fever were destroyed by New York. They lost 98-77 in the game before the break shooting just 37 percent from the floor and 25 percent from deep. On Tuesday Indiana was outscored 56-38 in the second half of a 98-84 setback. They failed to cover the WNBA odds spread in both games and are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games. Earlier in the year they beat New York behind 32 points from Clark.

It’s been a train wreck of a season for Chicago and playing the league-best Lynx three times in the last four games hasn’t helped. They actually beat Minnesota 87-81 on July 12 behind 27 points from Ariel Atkins. That loss seemed to piss off the Lynx, though. The Sky lost by 13 two nights later and were blitzed 91-68 on Tuesday. In between the Sky scored a season low in an 86-49 loss to Atlanta. Chicago is next to last in scoring with an average of 77.6 points and they boast the second-worst point differential at -8.9. They have been a good bet on the total, though, cashing the OVER six times with a push in their last 10 games.

Fever vs. Sky WNBA Predictions

There is no timeline right now for Clark’s return so expect the odds to stay off the board until there is some clarification. Despite that it hasn’t mattered in this matchup. Indiana won handily with Clark and dominated nearly as much without her. In Clark’s absence the Fever has received strong play from Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell. Boston averages 15.5 points shooting better than 56 percent from the floor. Mitchell had three straight games with at least 20 points before being held to 16 on Tuesday. Sophie Cunningham is averaging 13 points over her last four games making multiple threes in each game. You can also count on a double-double from Reese. She had 11 points and 11 boards on Tuesday, her 10th straight double-double and 16th in 22 games.

Fever vs. Sky WNBA Betting Tips

It’s been an average season for Indiana as they tread water with Clark on the shelf. They are 12-12 SU and 11-13 ATS. They are also 12-12 against the total. Chicago has struggled in the win/loss column going 7-16, but the Sky has made money against the line going 12-11. They are also 13-9-1 against the OVER. In this matchup, though, it’s been all Indiana. The Fever is 5-1 SU and 6-0 ATS since the start of last season.

Fever vs. Sky WNBA Head-to-Head and Key Stats

She may have lost out on a title to Reese in college but Clark has had the best of the series since the two turned pro. Indiana has won five of six meetings since the start of the 2024 season, collecting the cash in every contest. And the Fever has dominated this year winning the first two games by an average margin of 31 points. Clark registered a triple-double with 20 points 10 assists and 10 rebounds in a season-opening 93-58 win. She sat out the last game with Indy still scoring a 79-52 triumph. Chicago allows a lot of points and Indy is the second highest scoring team in the league. This one could be another rout for the Fever.
