Back for its third edition at the luxurious Tiburon Golf Club, the unique mixed team format that features PGA and LPGA stars competing together makes the Grant Thornton Invitational a compelling event on the pro golf circuit.
The three-day event features a different format every day with teams going against each other. The opening round will be a scramble followed by foursomes on Saturday. The final round will be a modified version of four-ball where teammates tee off then switch golf balls for the remainder of the hole. The lowest score will count towards the team score.
Grant Thornton Invitational Preview
The three-day event takes place Friday-Sunday, Dec. 12-14 at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, FL and will be televised on Golf Channel and NBC. The past two champs are in the field with the team of Jake Knapp/Patty Tavatanakit looking to defend.
Winners in 2023, the team of Jason Day and Lydia Ko has the third shortest golf betting odds with the duo of Corey Conners/Brooke Henderson the favorite.
Grant Thornton Invitational Predictions
- A number of golfers are back for another twirl around the Tiburon course, but only three teams remain intact from a year ago, likely giving them an advantage.
- This could be the year Corey Conners and Brooke Henderson break through. Oddsmakers think so, listing them as the early golf betting odds favorite. They are one of two teams to compete in every event, finishing T4 last year and runner-up in 2023, one-swing off the pace.
- Tiburon is a challenging course but most players are familiar with the layout. It hosted the QBE Shootout for several years on the PGA Tour and the Ladies finished their season here at the CME Group Tour Championship.
- All is not equal in this glorious event. The men will play from the championship tees while the Ladies play from their own tee box picking up around 600 yards per round in the process.
- Targeting big hitters on this beefy layout should be a priority, though accuracy is crucial with a number of hazards.
- Defending champs Jake Knapp and Patty Tavatanakit opened well down the odds board last year yet still emerged victorious highlighting just how open the field is.

Grant Thornton Invitational Head-to-Head and Key Stats
Corey Conners/Brooke Henderson
- The Canadian team is one of two to compete in all three events with a T4 and runner-up in the first two editions.
- Henderson got some of her swagger back, winning for the first time in more than 2 years at the CPKC Women’s Open in August. She ended the season with her second-best to par score (-14) in 24 starts, finishing 7th in the CME Group Tour Championship held at Tiburon.
- Conners was good, making the cut in all but two starts in 2025 and collecting 7 top 10s.
Denny McCarthy/Nelly Korda
- Korda is the most recognizable name on the Ladies side because of her success. She didn’t post a victory this season, but she made all 19 cuts with nine top 10s in her follow up the 7-win player of the year season.
- McCarthy ended his season on a run of poor form with no finish better than T28 and two MCs in his last six starts. He did have a run of six top 20s in eight starts earlier in the year.
- Korda has played in every invitational but McCarthy is her second partner.
Wyndham Clark/Lexi Thompson
- Thompson will be competing in this event for the third time, but the first with a new partner in Clark, who makes his tournament debut.
- Thompson had six top 20s in 19 starts this season, including one at Tiburon in the final LPGA event carding four sub-par rounds.
- Clark is coming off his best finish in months when he was T8 at the Hero World Challenge last week, his eighth top 20 of the season.
