Giants at Patriots: Top Odds & NFL Tips

The thought of the New York Giants stirs up bad memories for the New England Patriots. Twice during a 4-year span the G-Men denied the Pats a Super Bowl title, including one that ended a perfect season. The teams reunite in the Week 13 edition of Monday Night Football. The game kicks at 8:15 p.m. ET on Dec. 1 from Gillette Stadium and can be seen on ESPN.

Giants at Patriots Preview

The Giants have lost a lot of games over the last several years but they’ve perfected the art in 2025. And even a coaching change couldn’t reverse the trend. With a 2-8 record and mired in a 4-game skid, the club fired Brian Daboll. In their first two games under interim Mike Kafka the Giants led in the fourth quarter, but still lost.

Five times this season the Giants let a double-digit fourth quarter advantage slip away, including last Sunday in Detroit. That prompted a change at defensive coordinator with Charlie Bullen handed the reins. The Giants just haven’t been able to come up with a big stop or play to get them over the hump. They have beaten the NFL betting line in three straight games, though.

  • Additional resources toward the defense haven’t helped. The Giants are 30th in yards allowed and surrender more than 6 yards per play.
  • They’ve also given up more than 30 points four times in the last six games and are third from the bottom in scoring defense.
  • Filling in for injured Jaxon Dart, Jameis Winston has sparked the offense throwing for nearly 600 yards the last two games helping the Giants cash the OVER.
  • The Giants extended their road losing streak to 12 games, but they do have three payouts in their last four roadies.

Aided by a 9-game winning streak the Patriots became the first team to 10 wins when they held on against Cincinnati last week. At 10-2 the Pats take the NFL’s best record into their MNF tilt with the Giants. Both setbacks took place at home to a bad Raiders club in the opener and to Pittsburgh in Week 3.They haven’t lost since then and are 6-3 against the NFL odds.

The Pats are a great story but you have to consider their schedule. Only two of the nine opponents during the winning streak currently have a winning record with the other seven boasting a gaudy losing percentage of .731 (21-57). The wins were over 7-4 Buffalo and 6-5 Tampa Bay.

  • The Pats haven’t surrendered more than 23 points in any game during their winning streak and boast the second best point differential in the AFC.
  • With a strong season Drake Maye has vaulted up the MVP odds board. He’s completing 71 percent of his passes for 3,130 yards and 21 TDs for an offense that ranks among the top 10 in yards and points.
  • Overall the Pats have been strong, but they are last in the NFL in red zone defense allowing scores on 73.1 percent of opponent drives.
  • The Pats are just 2-4 ATS in their six home games.

Giants at Patriots Predictions

The Giants played inspired ball in two games under Mike Kafka and I think the defense will respond to the change of coordinators. In-season coaching changes more often than not prompt a short term response and we’ll see that from the Giants, who I like to cover with the points.
