Giants at Orioles Preview: Key Matchup, Odds & Tips

After playing 10 games at home and all of their first 13 games to start the season in their home state, the San Francisco Giants travel across the country for their first road series of the year in Baltimore. The Giants have sputtered out of the gate with 4 wins in 12 games putting them last in the NL.

Probable pitchers for the middle game of a 3-game set will put the Giants as a slight MLB betting favorite. Logan Webb, a 15-game winner a season ago, takes on O’s newcomer Chris Bassitt. The game will air in primetime on FOX.

Giants at Orioles Game Preview

  • The middle game of the 3-game interleague series between the San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles takes place on Saturday, April 11 at Camden Yards in Baltimore. First pitch is slated for 7:15 p.m. ET with television coverage provided by FOX.
  • The Giants are probably looking forward to hitting the road after a poor start saw them drop 8 of their first 11 games. They stopped a 4-game slide and showed some offense pounding out 12 hits in a 6-0 win over Philadelphia on Tuesday.
  • In a series opening 6-4 loss to the Phils the Giants scratched out 11 hits raising their team batting average to .230. In their first 10 games the club reached double figures in hits twice.
  • Their inability to hit the long ball has prevented the Giants from scoring more than their 36 total runs, which ranks them next to last in MLB. They have a MLB low 4 home runs through 12 games with 2 of those coming in one game.
  • Pitching was an issue last season for the O’s as they fell to the bottom of the AL East standings winning 16 fewer games than they did in 2024. Chris Bassitt was one of the major acquisitions to shore up the rotation.
  • Bassitt won at least 10 games in each of the last 5 seasons helping Toronto reach the World Series last year. However, he’s struggled so far in 2026 pitching to a 14.21 ERA in 6.1 innings over his first 2 starts.
  • The O’s climbed within a game of .500 by taking the first two games of a 3-game set with the White Sox. The pitching settled down in those games with the staff allowing a total of three runs while the offense did just enough.
  • Baltimore has had a tough go on offense, but Gunnar Henderson is carrying a big stick. He went deep in each of the first 2 games against the ChiSox and his 4 dingers are half the O’s team total through 11 games.

Giants at Orioles Predictions

  • It’s hard to imagine a lot of runs being scored with the way the offenses have struggled for both sides. And following a rough first start Webb has found his groove allowing just one earned run in 7.0 innings in his last start. The Giants have been burned by a bullpen that boasts a 4.65 ERA and has allowed 6 home runs.
  • Bassitt pitches to contact and unfortunately for him opponents have put a lot of good swings together. He’s been good in the past and he needs to find his form to justify a deal that pays him nearly $20 million this season. He’s fared well against the Giants in his career with 4 wins and a 3.91 ERA in 8 starts.

Giants at Orioles Betting Tips

  • Through Tuesday’s games the Giants and O’s combined for 12 home runs. Eight teams have at least that many or more.
  • The Giants haven’t played a lot of close games. Starting with a 9-3 win over San Diego on Mar. 31, 6 of their next 8 games were decided by 5 runs or more and opponents won five of them. As a result the OVER on the MLB betting line is 5-1-2 in those games.
  • The O’s have the edge at the back end of the bullpen with closer Ryan Helsley. He’s 4 for 4 in save chances this year and had 70 saves in the previous two seasons combined.

Giants at Orioles Head to Head and Key Stats

  • The Giants at O’s had an interesting series last year with the winning team scoring at least 11 runs. SF won twice, outscoring the O’s 29-21 in the 3 games.
  • The Giants have reached double figures in runs in 3 of the last 6 encounters going 4-2 in that span. All 6 of those games and 7 in a row overall have gone OVER the closing total.
