Cubs at Dodgers Odds, Preview & Betting Tips

National League contenders square off on Saturday’s Baseball Night in America on FOX when the two-time defending World Series champion Dodgers host the Chicago Cubs. LA is the favorite to become the first team to win three straight World Series titles since 2000.

Playing in what’s been the most competitive division in baseball at the outset of the season, the Cubs won their seventh straight game with a 7-4 decision over Philadelphia on Tuesday. They averaged 7.3 runs per game during the streak going OVER the total on the MLB spread in seven of 10 games.

Cubs at Dodgers Game Preview

  • The middle game of a 3-game set between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers is set to be played on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET with television coverage on FOX.
  • Through the middle of the week the teams were heading in opposite directions. The Cubs put together a 7-game winning streak improving to 14-9 through their first 23 games to move within a game of first place in the NL Central.
  • The Cubs hit the road having won four of their last five away games behind an offense that averaged 8.6 runs per game in that span. Overall the Cubs average the fifth most runs with 5.39 per game going OVER the closing total in 13 of 23 contests.
  • LA suffered its first losing streak of the season to of all teams Colorado last weekend. After winning the finale of that 4-game set the Dodgers dropped the opener at San Francisco on Tuesday for their third loss in four games and nearly matching their defeats in the first 20 games.
  • The Dodgers haven’t been shutout this season but they were held to one run and three hits by six Giants hurlers on Tuesday. Still LA has the most prolific offense leading MLB in runs per game, batting average, OPS and home runs.
  • Led by Max Muncy with 8 home runs, the Dodgers have 42, eight more than the next closest team. They went without a homer for only the sixth game in Tuesday’s loss falling to 2-4 when failing to go deep.
  • Playing in the middle of a stretch of 13 straight games, the Cubs are trying to manage their rotation. All-Star Matthew Boyd is returning during the week and the club has yet to name a starter for Saturday, though Jameson Taillon (1-1, 3.97 ERA) and Collin Rea (3-0, 3.00 ERA) are the likeliest candidates.
  • Roki Sasaki is expected to make his fifth start of the season for the Dodgers. He’s allowed 21 hits in 17.2 innings with a 6.11 ERA and 1.87 WHIP. LA is 1-3 in his starts.

Cubs at Dodgers Predictions

  • The starting pitchers don’t resemble Cy Young and each team has a closer on the IL impacting late inning moves. Meanwhile the Dodgers and Cubs have been wielding big sticks ranking among the top 10 in MLB in average, total runs scored and OPS so there’s a good chance we see runs scored.
  • The Cubs have put up strong numbers offensively despite limited production from Pete Crow-Armstrong. Through his first 23 games PCA is slashing just .225/.281/.303 which is a steep drop from last season. He’ll have every opportunity to break out of his slump and hitting the road is a good place to start.

Cubs at Dodgers Betting Tips

  • The Dodgers are too good and deep to endure a lengthy slump and they’ve been a dominant home team over the years. They have MLB’s second best home winning percentage this season.
  • The OVER is 6-1 against the MLB odds in Chicago’s last seven road games.
  • Despite having one of MLB’s top offensive teams, the Dodgers have cashed the UNDER in 6 of their last 9 games.

Cubs at Dodgers Head to Head and Key Stats

  • The Cubs and Dodgers played some wild games a season ago. The last 2 meetings saw a combined total of 34 runs scored with Chicago getting a pair of one-run wins to extend their winning streak to four games.
