Week 11 has several outstanding matchups that offer strong college football wagering opportunities.
The Big 12 has the most underrated matchup of the weekend with the two best teams in the league. The Texas Tech Red Raiders will host the BYU Cougars at Noon ET with television coverage on ABC.
From the Big Ten, the Penn State Nittany Lions will host the Indiana Hoosiers in what was expected to be a huge game with College Football Playoff implications. Instead, Penn State has an interim coach after imploding under James Franklin. Kickoff is at Noon ET with coverage on FOX.
Yet another Big Ten showdown could have major College Football Playoff implications when the Iowa Hawkeyes host the Oregon Ducks at 3:30 p.m. ET with coverage on CBS.
In the SEC, the Georgia Bulldogs are taking on a championship look and will hit the road to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs, who are struggling to finish games. Kickoff time is Noon ET, with coverage on ESPN.
Vanderbilt is the biggest surprise in the SEC and will host the disappointing Auburn Tigers at 4 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
Notable CFB Week 11 Odds
Ohio State (-27) is an intriguing price on the road against the Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue is coming off a hard-fought loss at Michigan, while Ohio State had a 38-14 laugher at home against Penn State. Ohio State has way too much here, and the road team discount.
Nebraska (+1.5) is an interesting line at UCLA. The Cornhuskers were humiliated in a home loss to a bad UCLA team that was a decided underdog. Now, Nebraska seeks revenge after a heartbreaking Blackout loss to USC. UCLA is coming off a bye week that followed a blowout loss at Indiana.
Alabama (-11.5) catches attention against LSU. The Tigers are trying to regroup after firing head coach Brian Kelly, but facing a rolling Tide with an interim coach is a tall task.
CFB Week 11 Predictions
Indiana -13.5 at Penn State – Penn State is wrapping up a lost season, while Indiana is on a drive to its second consecutive College Football Playoff. Penn State was dominated in a loss at Ohio State last week, while Indiana obliterated Maryland on the road.
The Hoosiers are rolling, and head coach Curt Cignetti takes no prisoners. Penn State has been mailing it in since firing James Franklin. A light crowd is expected for an early kickoff in a not-so-Happy Valley.
Iowa Hawkeyes +6.5 vs. Oregon Ducks – Iowa has become a sneaky good team with a defense and home field that can frustrate the Ducks. Both teams are coming off bye weeks and wins. Oregon will be playing in a tough environment against a no-nonsense type of program.
Georgia Bulldogs -8.5 at Mississippi State Bulldogs – When Mississippi State blew what was a home win in hand against the Texas Longhorns, it marked the end of its season. By contrast, Georgia is peaking at the right time.
Last week at the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, Georgia escaped a near-disaster against Florida and is looking like a national championship threat. Mississippi State won a wild shootout at Arkansas and could be spent.
BYU Cougars +10.5 at Texas Tech Red Raiders – The BYU Cougars are the most fundamentally sound team in the Big 12 and have a chance to stake their claim towards a conference title. Texas Tech routed Kansas State on the road in impressive fashion, while BYU is coming off a bye week. The Cougars are tough, play good defense, and are getting plenty of points.
Vanderbilt Commodores -7.5 vs. Auburn Tigers – When Auburn hired Hugh Freeze, it was considered to be a slam-dunk hire. Instead, the program is frozen with an offense that now seems outdated.
Vanderbilt will be in an angry mood after losing at Texas. The Commodores remain a talented, well-coached, underrated program. Auburn can’t get out of its own way.
