To manage stress on Embiid’s knees he typically doesn’t play in the second game of a back to back. That was the case last week in a 116-110 loss to Phoenix. That was Philly’s first loss in the back end in their last 5.

With Embiid likely sitting out the second game of a back to back and Giannis looking to ignite a run for his team, this is a good scenario for that to happen. A defense spearheaded by Embiid has frustrated Antetokounmpo in the past, but without that layer of defense the Freak will have free run of the floor.

With Embiid and Paul George each missing nearly half the season to date, rookie VJ Edgecombe has teamed with Tyrese Maxey to form a formidable scoring duo. Maxey is currently 3rd in the NBA averaging 30 points with Edgecombe at 15.8 points per game.
