Broncos at Commanders Best Bets & Odds

Teams headed in opposite directions take the field for the Week 13 Sunday Night Football matchup. The Denver Broncos have won eight straight games and hold a 2-game lead in the AFC West. Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders look to avoid a seventh straight setback when the clubs meet on Nov. 30 at Northwest Stadium.

Broncos at Commanders Preview

Denver takes an 8-game winning streak into this game but several of those Ws could have easily gone the other way. Their last three wins were each by a field goal and six victories during the current streak were by no more than 4 points. The Broncos are 5-3 against the NFL betting odds during the streak.

A strong defense can mask an inconsistent offense and keep a team in every game. The Broncos have been among the best in the NFL this season. They boast the third best total defense but allow a league-low 4.4 yards per play. And they harass opposing QBs with Nik Bonitto posting 9.5 of the teams NFL best 49 sacks.

  • The Broncos allowed a total of 41 points over their last 3 games winning each by a field goal and cashing the UNDER in every contest. They are 8-3 overall against the UNDER.
  • Denver has the best third-down defense allowing a conversion on less than 29 percent of the plays, and they are No. 1 in the red zone.
  • Three wins against the worst teams in the NFL (Titans, Jets, Raiders) were by a total of 13 points with the Broncos failing to score more than 20 points in any game.
  • Bo Nix has thrown for more than 2,400 yards with 18 TDs for the 16th ranked scoring offense.

Being successful in the NFL isn’t as difficult as maintaining that success over several seasons. The expectations were high entering the season after the Commanders made a run to the NFC Championship a season ago. Being the hunter is easier than being the hunted. Playing a chunk of the season without Jayden Daniels also impacted Washington’s year.

Daniels wants to return from a third injury that’s cost him five full games. However, according to reports, it’s unlikely he plays on Sunday night. Once again the offense will be left in the hands of backup Marcus Mariota. It’s been hard to gauge Mariota and the offense as whole since Noah Brown and Terry McLaurin have combined to play only six games.

  • The constructor of the Legion of Boom defense in Seattle, Commanders coach Dan Quinn can’t be happy with his stop group. Eight times an opponent has scored at least 24 points and the group is 28th in the NFL allowing 27 points per game.
  • The team formerly known as the Redskins is 0-6 ATS during its current losing streak and 3-8 ATS overall.
  • Washington is 0-3 SU and ATS in its last 3 home games getting outscored by 47 points.
  • The Commanders have the 3rd worst turnover margin at minus-8.

Broncos at Commanders Predictions

Mariota and the Washington offense haven’t been bad but the group is undermined by a porous defense. The Commandos can score as long as they don’t turn the ball over, and the Broncos will dent the scoreboard on the other end giving value to backing the OVER.
