2025 LIV Golf Andalucía: Odds & Top Contenders

GOLF

After seeing several courses for the first time in recent tournaments, LIV Golf returns to a familiar site with the third playing of LIV Golf Andalucia at Real Club Valderrama in Spain. Coming off his first finish outside the top 10 in 21 career LIV starts, Spaniard Jon Rahm opened as the LIV Golf betting odds favorite. Along with Bryson DeChambeau, Joaquin Niemann and Tyrrell Hatton, they all boast shorter than 10/1 odds. Sitting in the second tier of outright favorites is defending champ Sergio Garcia and the winner of the most recent tournament in Dallas Patrick Reed. This will be the final tuneup for 19 LIV Golf players ahead of the year’s final major, The Open at Royal Portrush next week.

2025 LIV Golf Andalucia Overview

The third playing of LIV Golf Andalucia takes place from July 11 to July 13 at Real Club Valderrama in the Mediterranean resort of Sotogrande in southern Spain. The property played host to a number of professional events on the European Tour and hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup while consistently being ranked among the top courses in the world. At under 7,100 yards at par 71 the course isn’t particularly long but it is demanding with narrow fairways and thick rough. Rahm’s streak of top 10s ended in Dallas when he finished with a share of 11th, three shots behind winner Patrick Reed. It seems fitting that Captain America would win his first LIV Golf title days before Independence Day. Reed tried to give it away, shooting a final round 75 allowing three others to catch up. Reed was the only one to birdie the first playoff hole earning the $4 million prize.

2025 LIV Golf Andalucia Top Contenders

Paul Casey

Casey is coming off his best finish on the LIV Tour and has the metrics that suggest better things ahead at Valderrama. He was one of four players to reach the playoff in Dallas after going 6-under during regulation play. He hasn’t been bad, finishing in the top half of the field in six of his nine LIV starts that includes two top 5s and on top 10. He’s been consistent at Valderrama in two previous starts and he ranks second in driving accuracy, which is a plus on these fairways, and fifth in GIR.

Sergio Garcia

I’m not sure if there’s any player better fit for the Valderrama course than Garcia. He showed off last year coming back from seven shots down entering the final round to win in a playoff for his first LIV title, one of his four professional victories on the track. Returning to what Garcia describes as his “favorite course in the world” could be exactly what he needs after finishing outside the top 20 with two MCs in his last seven starts overall.

Louis Oosthuizen

Another player more than talented enough to win but who is still searching for that maiden LIV title is Oosthuizen. A 10-time winner on the European Tour, Oosthuizen had his best finish of the season in Dallas as part of the four-man playoff. It was the 12th top 10 of his LIV career and the second top 5 in his last six LIV starts. His accuracy off the tee and his scrambling ability can help him avoid difficult situations at Valderrama, much like last year when three rounds of par or better earned him a share of third.

Jon Rahm

Rahm was closer to first place in terms of to-par score at Dallas than in any of his previous seven LIV outings when he had a better finish. So to say he’s slipping would be incorrect. And in fact it might just be the other way around. Rahm was only three swings back of the leaders in Dallas even though he stumbled with a closing 73. He’s played well over his career at Valderrama and being a Spaniard he should have some inspiration. Rahm was one of 11 players to score even-par or lower at this event last year earning him a share of 10th.

Patrick Reed

Feeling the pressure of securing his first LIV title may have gotten to Reed in Dallas. Leading by as many as five shots early in the final round he briefly lost the advantage on the 16th before finishing in a 4-way tie for first. Reed regrouped and birdied the first playoff hole to finally get the monkey off his back. And with that out of the way Reed has some momentum to tackle a course that yielded him a T4 last year.

Reed became the third first-time winner this season last time out in Dallas and I like Oosthuizen to continue the trend with a good run of form and a solid outing last year at Valderrama.
